KCFW-Saturday Runway II

After an exciting week of style and camaraderie, Kansas City Fashion Week came to its last runway of the season. On this second part, we will proudly share the collections of Georgina Herrera, House of Cochon, Lucia's Sarto with Dolyn Bags and sHE by Christian Micheal with Georgina Herrera.

Georgina Herrera

Georgina Herrera doesn’t seize to amaze. I became acquainted with her designs during last season’s KCFW (see here), her collection for this season was just as glamourous. Georgina considers current jewelry trends, such as chokers, and takes them to a first-class level.  Her pieces were unique; she used over-sized gems, unexpected shapes, and even gave movement to some of her spring-shaped pieces which bounced gently as the models walked. Through out her collection I experienced inspiration from stained-glass windows, and ethnic cultures. One of my favorites was her headpiece.

Protecting nature is so important for our world and future. I think its outstanding that artists and designers find inspiration in nature for their artwork. House of Cochon displayed dark garments, and set the focus on the bright colors of butterflies and flowers that adorned the models’ hair, neck and dresses.

Lucia debuted her Ready-to-wear collection accompanied by Ami Beck’s beautiful Dolyn Bags. Sarto’s collection is delicate and feminine, her outfits are a combination of luxurious loungewear and romantic office wear. Blazers and pants were brilliantly paired with lace, corsets and beautiful bell sleeves. Dolyn Bags provided the efficiency and class that one dreams of in leather bags.

KCFW ended on a strong note. Christian Micheal designed outfits for the unstoppable woman, for the one that works hard, but keeps it fun. Christian worked with black, white and gray tones and Georgina added charm with her golden necklaces, cuffs and earrings. Every outfit portrayed power and security, but my favorite pieces were the quilted coats, I couldn’t avoid seeing some Chanel in them <3 Flawless.
